“JP Saul”, a 220 pound female green sea turtle was rescued in the Florida Keys yesterday evening. Two fishermen found JP entangled in a stone crab trap line struggling to surface for a breath. The Turtle Hospital team and a crew from the USCG Marathon Station responded to the rescue. JP was admitted to The Turtle Hospital where she was weighed, measured, had a full blood chemistry, x-rays, and treatment was started. Treatment included broad spectrum antibiotics, pain medication, fluids, and wound care. Her front right flipper is severely injured from the entanglement and may result in an amputation. Please keep the prayers and healing energies coming for this magnificent marine turtle. Thank you for your support 🐢❤️🩹. Gratitude all around to the rescuers, the incredible team at USCG Marathon Station, and the dedicated team at The Turtle Hospital.
