Winter Sowing is hard to mess up, but here is what I do and my top tips: 1. If you don’t have seeds that need cold stratification; you don’t actually have to do this in winter. 2. Collect jugs and prep: pull off labels, drill holes (don’t like power tools? Check out my red solo cup reel for the method I usually use) and cut in half almost all the way— leave yourself a little hinge. 2. Moisten soil — potting soil make it yourself or buy it, but make sure it’s nice a damp 3. Try and only plant 4-5 seeds in each container for a 2L, 6-8 for a gallon. (Separating seedlings will suck less later) 4. Cover to the depth on the seed packet with a fluffy soil… I used seed starting mix— you can sift potting mix… but make sure it’s moistened too. 5. Label with a weather proof, sun proof marker!! I like garden line markers 6. Set in a sunny spot and ignore — your little greenhouses will do the rest of the work.
