Replying to @Carebear TLDR: the stretching & elongation essentially just makes the stomach smaller - the only real structural change is minimizing/eliminating the fundus, which is mostly empty/extra space to begin with. The body of the stomach still churns & breaks down food (albeit now in smaller quantities), it doesn’t require a “pooled area” because the food remains in the stomach until the pyloric sphincter at the bottom of the stomach opens to pass it through into the small intestine. 😊
