What’s the funniest response you’ve gotten after sharing you have celiac disease & need to eat gluten free? 🤔 The first line of this email is def one of mine. 🤣 We visited Riu Palace Pacifico in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico a couple years ago as part of my boyfriend’s work, and if you’re ever vacationing at an all-inclusive resort, a couple tips that helped me 👇 📧 I emailed my resort and visited Customer Service as soon as I arrived. They emailed their restaurants that I had celiac disease, needed to avoid gluten, etc in Spanish, & gave me a print-out copy to show chefs. I also brought a “celiac restaurant card” in Spanish from Celiac Travel.com (which has TONS of FREE celiac cards in various languages!). 🍳🥗🍣 At Riu Palace Pacifico, there were 5+ on-site restaurants & using the hotel app, I could look at the gluten free options. For the buffets, most of the foods had allergen cards above them. I could also ask the chef to show me the safe options, & I would arrive when the buffet opened + avoid options next to gluten to prevent cross contact. 🛥️🍗 For our off-resort excursion, I emailed our caterer my Spanish celiac restaurant card, & he assured me all the meat/veggies would be prepared separate from the tortillas. What’s the tastiest place you’ve vacationed at? Or where do ya wanna go next? 👇 You can also find TONS of guides for visiting many parts of the US, Italy and more on my page, along with taste tests of new GF products like @Purely Elizabeth’s NEW Certified GF & DF on granola at Walmart & Target. 😍
