#MomWorkout is a vibrant community sharing quick, effective exercises for mothers. It focuses on fitness, wellness, fun routines, energy boosting, bonding, self-care, strength, motivation, flexibility, and balancing motherhood and health.
Just a reminder, NOTHING happens over night. It’s all about small actions making BIG changes. I know the new year is here and we want to start a new lifestyle but extreme changes aren’t sustainable. We fall guilty of that “all or nothing thinking” where we think it has to be perfect or extreme or we just resort to doing nothing. The past 2.5 years, I’ve lost slow but steady over 50+ lbs. it’s been a very slow journey trying to figure out what my body will respond to, what makes me feel good and how to push through plateaus. It’s been such a rewarding journey that I’ve continued to document since day #1. Lately, people are just now starting to notice, which makes me feel soooo good!! But it’s like omg what are you doing now? When I never really got that the past 2 years when I lost the majority of the weight. And my answer is “the same thing that I’ve been doing the past 2.5 years, just consistently putting effort in each day and not giving up no matter how frustrated I’ve been.” A lot has been trial and error these past 2.5 years which I can’t wait to share all the things that have made a difference. But overall, I think it’s always the last couple pounds that truly make a difference when people start to notice and that’s okay. BUT just remember, do this journey for YOU. My biggest tips for toning up postpartum👇🏽 1. Focus on ADDING more protein to your diet. Protein is the most satiating macronutrients, so simply focusing on adding more of it to your diet, will help you build and maintain muscle as well as curb hunger. I still eat dessert EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. No restrictions around here 🙅🏻‍♀️ 2. Learn how to strengthen your core from within. Understand 360-degree diaphragmatic breathing + how to properly activate your pelvic floor to engage your deep core in your workouts BEFORE doing exercises like the ones shown here. I teach all of this in detail in my postpartum program on the @buildandburnco app!! It’s a 10-week program you can start whether you’re 2 weeks or 2 years postpartum to transform your total core!  3. Stay consistent with short + effective workouts. Work smarter, not harder by using both HIIT and strength training in progressive overload format for maximum results, just 30 minutes ~3-4 days a week is all you need.
