Save this run workout for later!  46 days until the Chattanooga Marathon!  @visitchatt  Today’s Workout  2 mile warm up  .50 miles HARD  .25 miles RECOVERY  X10 1 mile cool down  This run workout challenges speed thresholds by requiring you to consistently hit a tough pace, and it increases your aerobic capacity with short recovery intervals.  800m have been a staple in my training programs, but now we are working to build. 10 reps was challenging, I struggled hard to not take a longer rest at round 7. SO MANY LIGHTS 🚨 Is this the carpet you were expecting??  Maybe one day I’ll walk on a red colored carpet but definitely not today because I am not leaving my house it’s cold out there. 😅 Training is not the most exciting right now. This part rarely is!! Wake up - eat - train hard - eat more - work - sleep a lot - repeat. Winter training can be brutal, but I’m enjoying the routine of it all! Right now I am lifting 2-3x per week and averaging about 40-50 mile weeks leading up to my next marathon: The Chattanooga Marathon! Main goal: be able to run majority of the hills!! 📺 On this EPISODE of Runner’s Math… One thing I’ve learned from long runs, ultramarathons, speed workouts, Ironmans, and marathons is that keeping your mind IN IT and STRONG is everything. Runner’s Math is one of my go-to tools for staying sharp, helping me focus on small wins instead of getting overwhelmed by what’s left. During my 100-miler in November, I don’t think I could’ve made it through without strategies like this and positive mantras. For example: I know I can run 15 miles, but breaking it into “3 miles” at a time helps me stay present and focused on chunks, instead of dreading the full distance. Save this run workout for later and let me know how it goes. 🫡 The Workout Warm Up 20 minutes easy run  Main Set  1 minute HARD/Zone 4  1 minute RECOVERY/Zone 2-3  X10  Cool Down  10 minutes easy run + mobility  This continues to be one of my favorite run workouts. It always makes the time go by so fast and helped me get a 25 minute PR at The Chicago Marathon in just one year!  Though I do not expect to hit a big PR at the Chattanooga marathon this year my main goal for the race is to tackle the hills well and have fun! After a huge year of training, it’s time to develop the speed with some other races I have coming up in 2025!  More to come!
