Want to know why these habits help? 👇🏼 Eating enough food: If you’re not properly fueling yourself throughout the day, your body can experience symptoms of low blood sugar that can mimic symptoms of anxiety. This can look like shakiness, feeling dizzy, weak, or heart palpitations. Sleeping well: studies have shown that not getting enough sleep or having poor quality sleep can potentially increase anxiety. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Exposure therapy: one of the gold standards of therapy for anxiety. If you continue to avoid the things that make you anxious, your anxiety about them will not go away. Work with a trusted professional to help you with this. Exercise: while exercise won’t “cure” your anxiety, it releases chemicals called endorphins which can improve mood and reduce stress. It can also help your body burn off some adrenaline and feel more calm after exercise if you’re feeling ramped up due to stress or anxiety. Which of these habits will you try? To anyone who struggles with anxiety: YOU ARE NOT ALONE! The random panic attacks, guilty feelings, worry, stress, overthinking - NOT your fault. I know how hard it is trying to explain yourself and what you’re feeling to someone who can’t relate.  Don’t be scared to ask someone for help when those strong, unwanted feelings barge into your mind. Whether it be a trusted family member/friend or a professional. You are not crazy. What you are feeling is real and worth talking about.  Here’s what helps me when I recognize the attacks: • Call on Jesus. I just repeat His name over, and over, and over again. Sometimes it’s all I can say.  • Cast Satan away. You have this power. My favorite thing to say is, “Get behind me, Satan.” Things like “You are not welcome here”, “You have no authority over me”, “You will not win”, and “I rebuke you, in Jesus’ name” tend to get the job done, too.  • Open your Bible. Even if you can’t focus enough in the moment for the words to actually resonate, speak them outloud. The Psalms are my go-to, but any passage works.  • Breathe. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale through your mouth for 8.  • Pray. Tell God everything about what you’re feeling and ask Him to help you through it. 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on him, because He cares for you.” Sometimes my anxiety immediately goes away and other times it takes a while. Some attacks are more severe than others. Anxiety affects everyone differently and is one of Satan’s most useful tools, in my opinion. Don’t let him win. Trust that God is right there with you, pulling you out of it. 🤍 P.S. - if you can’t relate to those of us who struggle with anxiety, thank God for that. Seriously LOL. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
