💎 Save this quick tool & use it when you feel anxious or dysregulated this week 💎. December can be a traumatic time for many people. We are “supposed” to feel safe, happy, and comforted by the family around us. But what if we’ve experienced trauma? What if we have had a death in the family? What if we are sick and just not feeling ourselves? You don’t have to be anything that you’re not. So
if you’re feeling sick or chronic symptoms today, you may be asking yourself: “Why am I so fatigued? “Why do I have pain with no obvious root cause?” “Why am I constantly experiencing hypervigilance?” My answer: there could be a miscommunication happening between the brain & body. The hypothalamus is the part of your brain responsible for regulating several bodily functions, including appetite, sleep, temperature, metabolism, and growth. Chronic stress causes an increase in overall cortisol output and sustained activation of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis, which can result in a drastically reduced ability to cope with stress...and a laundry list of symptoms. ⚠You may know this as “adrenal fatigue.” It’s not—it’s HPA axis dysregulation. This same part of the brain becomes activated when we experience positive emotions, like gratitude, flooding our brains with the feel-good chemical dopamine. It’s our thoughts that inform our emotions, and our emotions trigger physical sensations in the body. When we make slight shifts to our focus, we alter our neurochemistry in a way that helps build resilience in the face of traumatic & stressful events. Positive rumination is associated with cyclical & repetitive thoughts centering on what’s going WELL, similar to how negative rumination involves repetitively focusing on what’s going wrong. đŸ„°It causes feel-good neurochemicals to remain in the body longer, promoting HPA axis balance that can lead to changes in chronic symptoms. You can start today. Reset is our 7-day introductory course that helps people move INTO a state of rest-and-digest, giving you a taste of brain retraining. Start this week for just $15. If you don’t think you’re stressed
but your body is responding with sensitivities, pain, and inflammation, this is a PSA for you. Trauma is stored in your body and nervous system – not the mind. This is a HUGE part of the work I do in Vital-Side and why I include mental exercises (brain) combined with somatic tools (body) to break the pattern of chronic stress and signal a message of safety. The memory and emotional centers of your brain like your hippocampus and amygdala (limbic system!) store past experiences, including the traumatic ones. When you feel emotions or perceive situations as similar to ones you’ve had in the past, this is your unconscious mechanism of protection. Your brain communicates danger to your body through hormones, and your body communicates danger right back to your brain. This negative feedback loop plays on repeat until the cycle is stopped. And when we have lived with trauma for an extended period of time, we can live in this feedback loop for years. Does this describe you?! I get it, I’ve been there too – and I had NO idea. It starts with awareness. Then, we take action. I’m so excited, we developed a FREE QUIZ to help you understand if your nervous system is dysregulated and you’re living in a state of survival. You can take the quiz at the 🔗 in my bio to find out if you are living in a state of survival. #neuroplasticity #epigenetics #mastcellactivationsyndrome #mastcelldisease #mastcellactivation #mastcellactivationdisorder #chronicfatiguewarrior #inflammation #inflammationrelief #fightflightfreeze #fightorflight #chronicpainrelief #painfree #mcas #potssyndrome #moldillness #fibromyalgiawarrior #chronicfatiguewarrior #trauma #traumahealing

I know how challenging it is to live with a chronic illness. Dealing with chronic illness can make us feel like we’re walking this path alone. I know that right now you’re trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together in order to find some relief. But there might be a piece you’re overlooking: community.đŸ§© It is an integral piece of the healing puzzle. A couple of years ago, I made a full recovery from chronic Lyme disease. Like you, there was a time when I tried everything to feel better. 👉Antibiotics, IV infusions, synthetic hormones, steroids, anti-inflammatories, coffee enemas, infrared saunas, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, massage, rebounding, biomagnetism, infrared light therapy, psychotherapy, breath work, epsom salt baths, paleo & ketogenic diets, intermittent fasting, etc. etc. 👉While we may see positive changes in our health due in part to these treatments and the support they provide our bodies, alone they are not enough to get us back to living a life of possibility and vitality.⠀ 👉Our subconscious minds have been conditioned to believe that the ability to feel better comes from something external (like a 💊). 👉It wasn’t until I discovered the concept of neuroplasticity and learned to heal the chronic stress response that I finally began to see my symptoms not just improve but DISAPPEAR.✹ I realized that if my brain was in this chronic stress response all the time, my body couldn’t effectively heal. Part of calming the stress response involved surrounding myself with people who made me feel seen, heard, and loved.đŸ„° In Vital-Side, we have a community of people who are focused on healing, just like you. ONE question to ask yourself in 2025: is it chronic illness or a dysregulated nervous system? đŸ‘‰đŸ» and before I go further into this subject, TOMORROW is the last day to claim your introductory brain retraining Reset for $7.50! SO back to the question
. it all comes back to the old question of, what came first - the chicken or the egg? When you’re experiencing life like a threat is present (whether that threat is a physical trauma like a virus or bacteria OR psychological trauma like a stressful event that greatly impacted you), your body responds. And that response? It’s a good thing
acutely. Inflammation and pain can act as warning signals sent from your brain to your body to let you know that danger is present.
but when your life becomes all-consumed by that threat response, that’s when sensitivities become present, pain becomes 24/7, and sleepless nights turn into tired days. It’s a negative feedback loop that plays on repeat until you break the cycle. And often? It takes more than just sheer willpower to break the cycle. It takes simple & structured daily tools to communicate a signal of “safety” that replaces the message of “threat.” If this is you today, and you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, it’s time to start Reset. In just 7 days, you’ll be able to learn about brain retraining, use simple & structured practices, and take the FIRST steps to regulating your nervous system. #paras#parasympatheticn#autonomicnervoussystems#vagusnerveo#neuroplasticitye#epigeneticsa#inflammationa#inflammationrelieft#fightflightfreezetorflight

Hands up đŸ€šđŸ»if emotional regulation was not the strong suit of your parents. I know, I know - they were trying their best. So, in adulthood, we find that distractions help us to avoid the fear we have of being alone. As children, we rely on others for our survival, so it’s natural that solitude can trigger old survival instincts, making it feel threatening even as adults. 🧠 If autonomy wasn’t modeled for you growing up, being alone might still seem daunting, not just physically but emotionally as well. But here’s the empowering part: we can reframe our relationship with solitude. Start by finding moments of peace in being alone. Reflect, recharge, and discover that being alone can actually be a space for personal growth and self-discovery. 🌟 Embrace the quiet and give yourself the chance to connect with your inner self. Solitude isn’t a threat; it’s an opportunity. You’re not alone on this journey—many are learning to find strength and comfort within themselves. Let’s support each other in this path to inner peace and self-discovery. If you’re starting to navigate this process of emotional regulation as you adult, I’m here for it. Reboot is a program designed for you to move through your survival responses with ease. Learn more ways to get your daily DOSE with our 7-day intro course. Cultivating more positivity is part of the brain retraining process, (But that doesn’t mean you have to suppress emotions like grief, sadness, and anger.) Being told to “stay positive” can feel like a punch in the gut when we’re battling chronic symptoms of pain, brain fog, and fatigue day in and day out.⁣ With genuine optimism, we can offer ourselves compassion by acknowledging difficult emotions, while also making the effort to change *habitual* negative thought patterns that no longer serve our highest good.⁣ Take laughing for 1 minute 😆. When we laugh, our brain releases tiny molecules called neuropeptides to help fight off stress. 🌈Neurotransmitters like dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins are also released, helping to elevate our mood, reduce anxiety, and increase feelings of happiness. EVEN when you laugh (and you don’t feel like it), you can experience the positive benefits of releasing endorphins and other feel-good neurochemicals. And you can even start to express feelings of gratitude and connection as a result. Words are just words unless we connect them with an elevated emotion. 🧠In Vital-Side, we use a psychoneuroimmunological approach. Psychoneuroimmunology is the study of how our thoughts & feelings (psych) influence our brain & nervous system (neuro), which temper the body's disease-fighting mechanisms (immunology).⁣ Check out our intro course Reset that offers simple, daily practices to help you break the cycle of stress & get that daily DOSE at the 🔗 in my bio. đŸ‘‡đŸ»đŸŽ‰. #healingchronicillness #chronicillnesslife #invisibleillnesses #spoonie #autonomicnervoussystem #nervoussystemhealing #epigenetics #neuroplasticity #nervoussystemregulation #

Please research epigenetics. And the epigenetics of poverty and lack of access to material resources. I talk about mental health, yes. But this, this is my passion and reason for study. Please. Go to google scholar, type “epigenetics poverty trauma” and see the studies being done. One or more traumatized (or chronically stressed [which poverty creates] parent) passes on genes to their offspring to be more vulnerable to addiction, mood and neuropsychiatric disorders. When I look at my granddaughter, Afton—her laughter, her innocence, her unbridled joy—I see the culmination of generations of resilience, pain, love, and healing. She carries none of the weight that I once bore because I chose to do the work. I chose to break the chains of generational trauma and rewrite the story. Her carefree spirit is a testament to the healing that flows through our bloodline now. The mother she has, my daughter, stands as evidence that my journey inward, my reclamation of sovereignty, and my commitment to self-love have cleared not only my path but the path of those who came before me and those who come after me. But I also know this: Afton will have her own work to do. She is a bringer of the New Golden Age, a soul chosen to carry forward the light and wisdom of this new chapter in human evolution. That is how ascension works—each generation rises higher, stands stronger, and carries the torch further than the last. My work has given her a foundation of love, strength, and authenticity, but her journey will be uniquely hers, guided by her purpose and her light. When I chose to love myself fully and live authentically, I didn’t just heal for me. I healed for my ancestors who were silenced, for my younger self who felt unseen, and for this precious child who will never have to carry burdens that weren’t hers to begin with. This is the power of breaking generational curses. It’s not just a shift in a single lifetime—it’s a ripple through time. It’s the freedom to watch her dance through life untethered, knowing that the timeline is clear because I chose to step into my light. And while her path will be hers to walk, I know she does so with a lineage that no longer whispers of pain but sings of possibility. To anyone standing at the edge of their own healing, wondering if it’s worth it—look at her. Look at her joy. That is the answer. #chainbreaker #generationaltrauma #epigenetics #healing #HealingJourney #ascension #goldenage #newearth #ancestors #livinginlove #

Building a biochemical blueprint of the body reveals how cellular stress disrupts balance. By studying the toggles that regulate stress responses, we can predict symptoms based on genetic mutations (because they are faulty instructions for making proteins), allostatic triggers (because it changes which proteins are made), and even medications (because they target proteins). This framework connects neurodivergence, chronic illnesses, and allostasis, offering insights into how the body adapts to—and sometimes fails—under stress. Understanding these mechanisms helps us move closer to targeted interventions and better outcomes. #Biochemistry #Allostasis #Epigenetics #Neurodivergence #ChronicIllness#greenscreen
