I dedicate 45sec -1min per progression. Start small and slow and build from there. Using a fit ball during bridging provides a tactile cue to self-check that you aren’t disengaging the inner thighs and glutes. Bridging is phenomenal for practicing proper alignment, learning to distribute effort and body weight, learning how small adjustments make all the difference in engaging the core and learning to lengthen the body as you lift. Unilateral (single leg) bridging provides the additional balance challenge as well as maximizing the effort in the diagonal sling and supporting leg and glute and opposite oblique and upper body. Lateral opening is incredibly challenging and advanced as you have to remain within the range of motion that is challenging yet safe. If you feel any sharp pain STOP, go back to preceding progressions. If you feel any pain in the ground STOP. Pilates was invented as a 1:1 modality.
