Tomorrow early I’m off to the freezing 🥶 town of Rochester Mn to visit Mayo Clinic’s sleep medicine clinic. Cancer, chemo, surgeries, forced menopause after hysterectomy (because I’m #brcapositive ) have messed up my sleep immensely. 😴 It’s been like this for 5 years, since chemo, and I’m finally getting it looked into. I’m praying they can figure out why I jerk all night long and wake up all the time (like every 30 minutes sometimes!) so I can get some actual sleep and not feel so exhausted all the time. 🙏🏻 Of course, that could be because of the #mastcell or #pots or #ehlersdanlos too; it’s so hard to know what causes what! I just know that I’ve been waiting a long time to do this, and I’m hopeful it will lead to some answers and improvement. Mayo Clinic has the BEST blood work system I’ve ever seen. And it STILL took 3 nurses and 45 minutes to get my blood work done. 😵‍💫 That’s life after chemo, my friends! Especially when u didn’t have a chemo port. (Dr’s idea; seemed like a good one at the time!) 😳😅 Every single time the techs don’t believe that I’m THAT bad of a stick. I mean, they’re really great at their job!👏🏻 And here at #mayoclinicmn they have a huge waiting room and call people every 30 seconds or so to go back, take their blood, and then put it on a conveyor belt that takes it to be tested next door right away! Usually get results in an hour or so. It really is impressive! And still mine is a huge ordeal involving 3 nurses, heat, syringes, 3 pokes w digging around and me laying down at one point because well, a girl can only take so much!😅 We got it done. And that’s a win in my book! Now I crash and prep for 2 appointments tomorrow. And feel grateful no more blood work for a while!
