Before you write off your low back pain as 'getting old'π΄, give this rolling technique a shot. Yes, our glutes can be weak causing low back pain, but often times its glute tightness that's the problem. When your upper outer glutes are tight, your legs rotate outward (think bow-legged cowboys chewing tobacco), and standing for long periods peels your hip bones away from your spine, aggravating your SI joints, and even your sciatic nerve π± Basically, Being a tight a$$ is bad for your lower back π. So rolling that muscle tissue out can relieve tension in the lower back and allow you to move pain free π Also, if you don't have a large (5") triggerpoint ball, you can use a softball, baseball, lacrosse ball (ouch), or even the round side of a kettlebell (double ouch).
