My ideal dinner🎀 Steak & fries with ranch, caesar salad & an ice cold coca-cola <3 Recipe for the coca cola is below!! I didn’t really measure or write down anything else so I don’t have recipes for the rest of it but if there’s something specific you want the recipe for, let me know and I can try to write it up:)! Homemade Coca-Cola (Makes 8-10 servings) Recipe from beautyandthebeets.com —- INGREDIENTS * 4 cups filtered water * juice & zest of 1 lemon * juice & zest of 1 lime * juice & zest of 1 large orange * 2 to 3 cinnamon sticks * 2 TBSP dried orange peel * 1.5 tsp whole coriander seeds (optional) * 1/4 tsp fine or finely grated nutmeg * 3 cups sugar, I used raw tubinado sugar but any will work * 1/4 cup browning sauce (you can buy it or make it, see recipe below for browning sauce)*** * 1 tsp vanilla extract * Sparkling mineral water for mixing (I love San pelligrino or @Maison Perrier USA ) * Optional: if you want caffeine you can add 2 TBSP green coffee bean powder Instructions 1. Stir the water, lemon zest, lime zest, orange zest, cinnamon sticks, dried orange peel, whole coriander seed, and nutmeg together in a large saucepan over medium heat. 2. Stir in the sugar and bring to a boil. 3. Continue stirring until the sugar dissolves. (The spices will not dissolve) 4. Remove syrup from the heat. 5. Add the lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, browning sauce, and pure vanilla extract to the saucepan mixture and stir. 6. Let mixture cool, then use a fine mesh strainer and strain syrup into a mason jar or other sealable bottle for storage. 7. To make one cola drink: Combine about ½ cup of the cola syrup with 1 ½ to 2 cups of seltzer water (pour slow as the mix will fizz, just as regular soda). Taste it and see if you want more or less syrup. 8. Add ice and enjoy! For the browning sauce: * 1/4 cup granulated sugar * 1.5 Tbsp water * 1/8 tsp cream of tartar * 1/4 cup hot water - Instructions 1. To a small saucepan, add the sugar and 1.5 tablespoons water. Do not stir. Cover and simmer over medium heat until the sugar melts completely. Increase heat to medium-high and boil for 2 minutes. 2. Remove from the heat and stir in the cream of tartar. Return to the heat and continue to boil until the sugar “almost” turns black. You’re wanting a very dark brown. It will continue to cook and darken when removed from the heat. Remove from the heat and stir until all foam dissolves and you’re left with only a dark liquid. 3. Return to the heat and add the hot water, stirring to dissolve any hardened sugar on the spoon and the sides of the saucepan. For harder to remove sugar on the sides of the saucepan, simply spoon a little of the liquid onto the sides of the pan. That’s it! You can use this for your cola to give it color and flavor :) .
