Replying to @Mac_fitness hope this gives a little insight of what interview questions to expect when applying for a CEP job! 🫀🩺 #jobtips #interviewtips #interviewquestions #jobinterview #clinicalexercisephysiologist #clinicalexercisephysiology #exercisescience #exercisephysiology #exercisephysiologist #cardiology #acsm #acsmcep #acsmcertified #healthcare #healthcareworkers #aacvpr #virtualcardiacrehab #cardiacrehab #workfromhome #wfh #wfhlife #remotecepjobs #cardiacstresstesting #stresstesting #cardiopulmonaryrehab
My journey as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist explained 🩺 Many students ask how I became a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and really all I have to say is that it was a blessing in disguise to stumble into this field! Here is a short (yet long lol) overview of my CEP journey: 🫀 May 2014: Graduated from Benedictine University (Lisle, IL) with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with emphasis on pre-physical therapy. As many of you may or may not know, I originally wanted to become a physical therapist however was denied from PT schools because of my grades and lack of experience in the field, which led me into the Clinical Exercise Physiology field. 🫀 Summer 2014: Was part of a research team at Benedictine University that later presented at the MWACSM Conference in Indiana in November 2014 🫀 August 2014-August 2016: Completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology also at Benedictine University. We were required to intern at 2 facilities during my second year. I interned at Edward’s Hospital (Naperville, IL) in the cardiopulmonary rehab department in the fall of 2015 and Northwestern Memeorial Hospital (Chicago, IL) in the cardiac rehab and cardiac diagnostics/stress testing department in the spring of 2016, completing more than 150 hours at each facility. 🫀 August 2016: Passed the comprehensive exams and graduated from Benedictine University with my Masters degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology 🫀 September 2016-March 2021: First job as an Exercise Physiologist working in the cardiac stress testing department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, performing regular, echo, nuclear, and later cardiopulmonary stress tests in the inpatient and outpatient setting. 🫀 April 2021-May 2023: Moved to Denver and obtained my ACSM-CEP certification in July 2021 for my Clinical Exercise Physiologist position at Kaiser Permanente in the cardiac stress testing department performing regular, nuclear, cardiopulmonary, and some echo stress tests in the outpatient setting. 🫀 May 2023: Had the privilege to present at the ACSM Conference in Denver of my social media journey as a CEP! 🫀 May 2023-present: Became part of the team that helped build the virtual cardiac rehab program in KPCO. Our virtual cardiac rehab program launched in late August 2023 and it has been an amazing journey and learning experience since!
