Lil Debbie heart cakes just in time for Valentine’s Day! 💕 These were so fun to make, thanks to @thesqueakymixer for the recipe!! Ingredients: Cake • 1 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour • 1 tsp. baking powder • 1/4 tsp. salt • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temp • 1 cup sugar • 2 eggs, room temp • 2 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla • 1/2 cup buttermilk, room temperature Filling • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature • 1 cup Marshmallow fluff • 3 cups confectioner’s sugar • 2 tsp. vanilla extract Coating • 2 1⁄2 cups light pink candy melts • 3 Tbsp. coconut oil • 2 Tbsp. white chocolate, melted Directions: • Preheat oven to 350* & grease a standard 1/2 sheet pan. • Whisk the flour, baking powder & salt. Set aside. • Using the paddle attachment of your mixer, beat the butter and sugar until it is light & fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time mixing between each addition. Add in the vanilla. • Alternate adding dry ingredients & buttermilk. • Pour batter into the pan & use a spatula to spread the batter evenly. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown. • While the cake cools, use the paddle attachment of your stand mixer to whisk together the butter & fluff. Mix until there are no lumps of butter. • Sift the confectioner’s sugar & slowly add until everything is combined.Add the vanilla. • Once the cake has chilled, use a 4″ heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many hearts as you can out of our sheet of cake. • Place the filling we prepared into a piping bag & pipe an even layer of filling on top of one heart at a time. Top each with another piece of cake. Use a spatula to make sure sides are smooth. • Freeze cakes for 1 hour so they are easier to dip. • Melt candy melts with coconut oil in 30-second intervals until completely melted. • Dip each cake into the melts allowing the excess to drip off. • Allow cakes to set in the fridge for at least 15 minutes. • Melt the white chocolate in 30-second intervals until completely melted & pipe the swirls. • Place the cakes back in the fridge to allow the chocolate to set. • Enjoy! #valentinebaking #lildebbiecakes #valentinecakes #baking #bakefromscratch #valentinetreats #copycatrecipe #copycat #heartcakes #fyp #bakingfromscratch #homebaker #trending
