I know for most women, it’s extremely hard to get bulky when it comes to building muscle. However, for me (all natural), I can build a good amount of muscle. These pictures are about 2-3 years apart. Picture 1: I had just gotten done competing nationally as a bikini competitor. I was in my off-season and my body fat was back to a normal range. However, I did NOT feel comfortable in my body. I felt “bulky” despite everyone telling us women “women don’t get bulky unless they take PEDs”. Well… I did. And I was not comfortable in my clothes… things didn’t fit anymore. But don’t get me wrong, I was proud of myself but just knew I wanted to lean down a bit. Picture 2: I stopped competing for a few years. I still ate healthy and went to the gym. But I wasn’t so obsessed, which was amazing. I ate pizza, enjoyed life a bit more. I lost muscle, yes… But I did start to feel more comfortable in my body. Clothes I couldn’t wear in picture 1 started to fit me again! In some ways, it was hard to let go of that competitive mindset of chasing muscle, but at the same time, I’m so grateful for all the life I have lived in the last 3 years! All this to say, remember that where you feel comfortable in your body is perfect for you. Even if you aren’t (in my case) a national bikini competitor anymore. I’m happy with where I am and where I’m going! Life is more than chasing a body too! Live life and love on those around you! Eat the pizza sometimes and nourish your body with healthier foods too! Experience all the fun things and don’t miss out on trips or dinners because your goals are crazy. You can still work towards goals but I just want you to remember that it’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency. At the end of the day finding a way to balance hitting your goals with living life is the most fulfilling experience. You got this🩷
