Taking out my dreadlock extensions always makes me so sad. I have to look at the real me in the mirror (without my dreadlock extension armor) and sometimes that is hard…but it also makes me excited for what is coming next. My goal was to wear my Eras 2.0 set into 2025 to ensure that I rang in the new year with my happiest self and that meant having happy hair. Now that we are settled in 2025…I had to acknowledge the loops at my scalp yelling at me that it was time for removal... but I LOVED wearing these and have gotten so many sweet messages, comments, and requests for custom orders and also for help from people ready to make their own sets. Let me just say that I am so proud of you and happy for you if you are braving this and are trying something new! I wish you the greatest success and am over here cheering you on! Make your dreams come true. It will be worth it! PS I will be trying something a little different on my next install…any guesses or requests as to what I have planned? #dreadlockextensions #dreadlocks #curlydreadlocks #dreads #fauxdreadlocks #temporarydreadlocks #locs #dreadlockjourney #syntheticdreadlocks #syntheticdreadlockextensions #curlydreads #wavydreads #temporarydreads ##dreadlockremoval #doubleendeddreads
It has been less than 48 hours without my dreadlock extensions and I just feel like I am in an emotional slump! Maybe it is the weather. Maybe it is because I have a terrible cold. Maybe it is because school starts back up on Monday and everybody is home and climbing the walls. Maybe it is a little bit of a metaphorical holiday hangover. Maybe it is all of those things. It probably is. But I know the quickest fix. And that is to get more extensions into my hair ASAP. Few things make me feel as happy as looking in the mirror and LOVING my hair. So…I just got some new hair today and am off to get creative! Stay tuned! PS how have you fared this holiday season? Are you holding up okay? It can be a very emotional time. If you ever need a friend to listen…feel free to bend my “ear,” okay? I love hearing from you. And it doesn’t have to be about hair. Here is a recap of my hair in 2024. All in all—it was a good hair year! I noticed myself moving toward curly extensions. I also noticed myself leaning into more natural hair colors. I see my face thinning out (I spent 2024 devoted to health and lost a couple of handfuls of pounds). I see myself becoming more confident in my own skin. I see myself making bolder fashion choices (not bold by other’s standards…but certainly by my own), and I see improved lighting (small investment in a ring light). And…most importantly…I see happiness. When I woke up in January 1, 2024–I didn’t know what was in store for me. I just knew that I’d be turning 50 in 6 months and that I wanted to be happy. I wanted to wake up HAPPY every day. And I did that. I’m thankful for 2024. I built a healthy head space and I intend to keep it in 2025. Happy New Year everybody! May this year bring you joy, happiness, health, and wealth! #dreadlockextensions #dreadlocks #curlydreadlocks #dreads #fauxdreadlocks #hippiehair #temporarydreadlocks #locs #deadevolution #dreadlockjourney #ayearofdreadlocks
