I’ll be honest—when I first heard the word ‘ostomy,’ I didn’t want it. The thought of living with an ostomy bag felt like the end of everything I knew about myself, my body, and my life. I was overwhelmed with fear, shame, and grief. I thought, ‘Maybe it’s better to let go than live like this.’ The stigma, the uncertainty, and the unknown were suffocating. But then something shifted. I realized that choosing an ostomy wasn’t about giving up—it was about fighting for my life. It wasn’t the end of who I was; it was the beginning of a new version of me. A version that could adapt, find joy, and thrive despite the challenges. I won’t sugarcoat it—there are still hard days. Days when I feel frustrated or miss how things used to be. But those days are outweighed by the moments I’ve been given to truly live: the laughs with loved ones, the milestones I’ve reached, and the strength I never knew I had. To anyone struggling with this decision or feeling like you’d rather choose death: I see you. I understand how heavy it feels. But life with an ostomy is still life. It’s a chance to find beauty, connection, and purpose in ways you might not expect. You are more than your fear, and you are never alone. If I could go back and tell myself one thing, it would be this: Choosing an ostomy isn’t giving up—it’s choosing hope. And hope is worth it. 💛 #OstomyLife #ChooseHope #OstomyWarrior #SecondChances #ThrivingWithOstomy #LifeAfterSurgery #ResilientAndStrong #StrengthInScars #YouAreNotAlone #ChronicIllnessWarrior #SpoonieLife #InvisibleIllness #ChronicPain #ChronicIllnessSupport #IBDWarrior #LifeWithChronicIllness #DisabilityAwareness #SpoonieStrong #ChronicFatigue #AutoimmuneDisease #LivingWithChronicIllness #MentalHealthAndChronicIllness #HealingJourney #ChronicIllnessCommunity #ThrivingNotSurviving #HealthJourney #AdvocateForAwareness #ChronicPainWarrior #LifeBeyondIllness #OstomyLife #OstomyAwareness #LivingWithAnOstomy #OstomySupport #InvisibleIllness #IBDWarrior #OstomyCommunity #LifeWithAnOstomy #OstomyBag #OstomyStrong #ChronicIllnessWarrior #StrengthInScars #ThrivingWithOstomy #BagLife #ColostomyLife #IleostomyJourney #StomaLife #OstomyAdvocate #UnstoppableWithAnOstomy

Day 17: 100 Sit-Ups 💪 This challenge pushed me way out of my comfort zone. Knowing I wouldn’t be perfect—or even able to do a sit-up on my own—was a hard pill to swallow. Before my surgeries, this would’ve been no problem, but now, it’s a different story. I managed five sit-ups with the help of my amazing family cheering me on, but even that left me exhausted. It’s humbling and uncomfortable to face how much my body has changed, but I’m learning that progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, trying, and celebrating even the smallest victories. If you’re on a journey to rebuild, you’re not alone. In this series, I’m sharing my journey of building confidence while living with an ostomy bag, feeding tube, and scars. These medical devices are often misunderstood, but for me, they are powerful symbols of survival and resilience. Over the next 12 posts, I’ll dive into how I’ve learned to embrace my body’s changes and wear my story with pride. From shifting my mindset and practicing self-love to celebrating small wins and stepping outside my comfort zone, I’ll show you how confidence isn’t about perfection—it’s about owning who you are, scars, devices, and all. Join me as I share how I’ve grown stronger through my experiences, and how you can too, no matter the challenges you face. This journey is about being unapologetically yourself, embracing the things that make you unique, and letting your confidence shine through. It’s not always easy, but every step is worth it. I hope my story resonates with you and reminds you that your strength comes from within. #OstomyLife #ConfidenceJourney #MedicalDevices #StrongerThanEver #ScarsTellStories #LivingWithAnOstomy #SpoonieStrength #SelfLove #ResilientAndProud #ChronicIllnessWarrior #EmpoweredLiving #SpoonieLife #InvisibleIllness #ChronicPain #ChronicFatigue #LifeWithChronicIllness #AutoimmuneDisease #HealingJourney #MentalHealthAndChronicIllness #ThrivingNotSurviving #ChronicIllnessSupport #DisabilityAwareness #SpoonieStrong #IBDWarrior #ChronicPainWarrior #HealthAdvocate #ChronicCondition #LifeBeyondIllness #OstomyAwareness #OstomyWarrior #LivingWithAnOstomy #OstomyStrong #StomaLife #OstomyCommunity #BagLife #IBDWarrior #ColostomyLife #IleostomyJourney #InvisibleDisabilities #OstomySupport #ThrivingWithOstomy #StrengthInScars #LifeWithAnOstomy #UnstoppableWithAnOstomy #StomaWarrior #OstomyAdvocate #ChronicallyFabulous #FeedingTubeLife #TubeFeedingJourney #FeedingTubeWarrior #LivingWithAFeedingTube #TubeFeedingStrong #FeedingTubeAdvocate #ChronicIllnessAndFeedingTube #FeedingTubeCommunity #TubeFeedingAwareness #InvisibleIllnessSupport #FeedingTubeJourney #TubeFeedingAndProud #FeedingTubeStrong #HealthWarrior #FeedingTubeEmpowerment #LivingWithFeedingTube #SpoonieStrength #ChronicIllnessWarrior #sbs #shortbowelsyndrome #cipo #tpn
