🏔️ Hannah Montana: A Life That Almost Wasn’t 🐷 👠 Seven years ago, we saw a picture of a tiny, fragile calf—a calf that forty rescues had already said no to. She was born to be meat, but because she was disabled, a small window of hope opened for her to be saved. We couldn’t let that window close. We had to say yes. Dr. Davis and I boarded a single-engine plane, watching the weather anxiously. In the dead of winter, we found a 48-hour break from the storms and took off, flying across the country to Mile City, Montana. The flight was brutal. By the time we landed back home with our little girl, I had vertigo for three months. But I would do it all over again for her. We were just as scared as the others who said no. But we also knew that if we didn’t try to give Hannah a prosperous life, we’d be failing her just like the world had already failed her once. And look at her now—nineteen pairs of shoes later—she’s thriving. She’ll be seven this year, and she lives every single day with a vibrancy that reminds us why we do what we do. Her life means something. Her life is a reminder that every individual deserves a chance, and she is just one of the many reasons we are vegan. Because no animal should have to be lucky to be saved. No one should have to fight just to exist. Hannah Montana, you are loved beyond words. And we are so proud of you. #HannahMontanaThePig #RescueStories #VeganForThem #EveryLifeMatters #ZiggysRefuge #DisabledButThriving #FarmSanctuary

In January 2021, Cashew and Oats were rescued from a small dairy farm in Vermont. Their fate was already sealed, like so many male calves in the dairy industry, they were deemed “useless” and destined to be killed shortly after birth. Male calves, are often discarded as waste by small farms or sent to veal production by larger operations. Female cows don’t have it better, enduring years of forced impregnation and separation from their babies, until their bodies are too exhausted to produce milk, typically around five years of age. Cashew and Oats are living proof of the precious lives lost because of the dairy industry. For every glass of milk, there’s a story of suffering. Choosing dairy-free alternatives not only spares lives like theirs but also helps break the cycle of exploitation. Ready to rethink dairy? 🤍🐄 #dairyisscary #animalsanctuary #veganfortheanimals #vegansanctuary #dairyfree #dairyiscruel #dairycalves #govegan #nomilk #veganforthem #vegan #veganuary

Today, we celebrate the birthday of three incredibly special beings, Bella, Magnus, and Roman! 🎉🎉🎉 Six years ago, these triplets came to us as newborns, rescued from a heartbreaking situation. A farmer, inexperienced in raising Berkshire pigs, attempted to breed them for expensive pork. Born in the freezing winter, these fragile babies were not expected to survive. Their mother, sensing their suffering, tried to end their pain the only way she knew how. But fate had a different plan. Spared at the last moment, Bella, Magnus, and Roman found their way to Tamerlaine, where we provided them with round the clock care. From tiny, vulnerable piglets to the beloved giants they are today, they have filled our sanctuary with love and so much joy 💗 They are adored by all! but no one loves them more than Peter, their devoted papa! Happy Birthday, dear Bella, Magnus, and Roman! We are so grateful to have you in our family. ❤️🎉🐷 #birthday #happybirthday #happyending #pigsoftiktok #animalsanctuary #vegansanctuary #veganfortheanimals #veganforthem #pigs #pigsarefriendsnotfood #animalrescue #pigrescue
