It’s all connected and the fascial system weaves beautifully throughout the body to maintain this connection of mind, body, and energy… I’ll never forget a client I had who came to me for a Pilates session back when I was teaching. They hadn’t been physically active in awhile yet, had been doing a lot of inner healing work. As we got started with simple, gentle movements they told said: “I may get emotional as I get moving, I feel like my body is about to release some things it’s been holding onto..” I gently guided this person while still giving them space to process all they needed to. Through my years of personal training I would see this play out in people who weren’t as aware of what their body was releasing. People would come to me one way (high stress, tense, overwhelmed) and I would see the energy shift as they moved their body, stretched, foam rolled, and breathed deeply. I realized how vital it was for nutrition to generate the building blocks of recovery for the fascia, muscles, and nervous system. I saw how environment impacted this symphony and how various practices need to come together to give the body the best chance at healing (which, is why I help clients with a more multidimensional approach than just the physical fitness side of things). The health of your fascial system will play a beautiful part in your healing experience. Ways to support it today: -Hydrate!! And use electrolytes + minerals to optimize hydration status. -Use gentle foam rolling techniques, especially around the chronically tender areas. -Stretch, breathe, intuitively move your body. Your body knows what it needs, drop in to allow space for it to show you. -Use the nutritional tips in the Restore Your Spark Guide! How do you take care of your fascial system? Comment below!
