Make sure you are eating the proper amounts for you goals! We envy those who were able to lose the weight because we’ve tried everything out there but nothings worked for us.  We resort to blaming our weight gain on outside sources.  “They were able to lose the weight because of their genetics” “Well it must have been easier for them” “They weren’t even that big to start with” When we say these things, we are trying to comfort ourselves for our inability to accomplish what they could.  But in reality, we are undermining their achievements and the hard work they put in.  Rather than blaming everything and everyone else for our issues, why don’t we focus our attention inward and worry about what we can control.  I was able to lose over 80lbs because I took responsibility for my actions and made the changes necessary to do so. Most people when they start their weightloss journey begin by making HUGE changes to their lives.  These changes are never sustainable. What ends up happening when you make huge changes like changing your diets completely, or cutting out certain things like sugar, carbs or wine, is you might lose weight from the change… but as soon as you go back to your old habits, you end up gaining the weight back, and often you gain more than you lost.  By starting with small, sustainable changes, we are able to change our lifestyles and mold them with healthier habits.  You have to remember that you didn’t just suddenly wake up with the body you have. That body is the result of your lifestyle and your habits.  So in order to lose the weight and keep it off, you need to alter your lifestyle and your habits.  Start small by moving your body daily. Set a step goal and hit it. Start. Going to the gym a couple days a week. Find a way to move your body daily that you ENJOY!!  You want to find something you actually enjoy doing if you want to be sustainable in your weightloss journey! (If you’ve heard it 1000 times… why aren’t you doing it yet?) Number 2 : Start weight training 3-5 days a week. Following a structured program, I’d begin by training 3-5 days a weight to build muscle.  Number 3 : Learn how to keep track of my nutrition. Eating healthy & eating the proper amount of food are very different things. In order to see long term results, it’s key to make sure you are properly fuelling your body for your goals! I finally understood that losing weight isn’t about what foods you eat, it’s about how much!!  Believe it or not, you can gain weight eating only salads, and lose weight eating only fast food.  Now I am by NO MEANS recommending you only eat fast food to lose weight!!! But I am recommending that you don’t completely cut out your favourite foods!!
