A post by @chefphilli on TikTok caption: The cake you NEED: blood orange and polenta cake   - 100ml olive oil, plus extra for the tin - 50g golden caster sugar - 50g runny honey - 2 eggs - 1/2 tsp Maldon sea salt flakes, plus a pinch to serve - 1/2 orange juice - 75g polenta - 1/2 tsp baking powder - 75g ground almonds Syrup:  - 100g sugar - 100g water - 2 orange peels - crème fraîche, to serve - **STEP 1**          Heat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Oil and line a 23cm springform cake tin with baking paper.      - **STEP 2**          Whisk the sugar, 100g of honey and eggs with an electric whisk for 5 minutes until very foamy and doubled in size. Add the oil, continually whisking, then fold in ½ tsp of the salt, the orange zest, polenta, baking powder and almonds. Scrape into the tin and bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden and risen, and a skewer comes out clean. Leave to cool in the tin.      - **STEP 3**          While the cake is cooling, heat the remaining heat the sugar, water and orange peels and reduce a medium heat until reduced to a light syrup. Spoon over the cooling cake. Serve with a pinch of sea salt, a dollop of crème fraîche and seasonal fruits. #cake #polenta #bloodorange

I love @mellowyellowoil and use it in place of olive oil for any recipe not only ‘cause it tastes and looks delishh but it’s 100% British soo #sustainable and higher in omega 3s soo better for our 🧠 and ❤️.  Mellow yellow homemade mayo  1 yolk 1/2 garlic clove, grated  1 tbsp white wine / apple cyder vinegar  1/2 tsp sugar  1/2 bottle of @mellowyellowoil   Pinch salt  1. Whisk together the egg yolk, garlic, vinegar and sugar in a bowl.  2. Add a tea towel under your bowl to stop it slipping and slowly drizzle the mellow yellow oil into the yolk and whisk with your other hand until it becomes thick and glossy.  3. Finish with salt and store in the fridge covered for up to a week.  Mellow Yellow Chilli Oil: This one is great on eggs, noodles, chicken, and you can also make a batch and keep it in the fridge for 2 weeks.  2 tbsp chilli flakes (I used Korean ones) 1 tbsp sesame seeds  1/2 garlic cloves, grated  200ml Mellow Yellow rapeseed oil  Pinch salt  Pinch sugar 1/2 tbsp vinegar  1. Add chilli flakes, sesame and garlic to a heat proof bowl 2. Heat oil on medium for 5 mins to approx 120c if you have a heat thermometer otherwise pour a little on the chilli flakes in the bowl you want the to just sizzle and release their aroma. Once hot pour over the hot oil and stir allow to cool slightly. 3. Add chillis, garlic to a heat proof bowl 2. Add oil to a pan and heat until 120c aprox 5 mins on medium  3. Pour over chilli and garlic and stir  4. Finish with honey, salt and vinegar 5. Store in the fridge covered for up to 1 month maybe more… great on eggs, pasta, rice basically any carbs Enjoy!!! #friedchicken #spicychicken #chicken #crispychicken

This is ep 10 around the 🌎 in 80 sauces.  I used gochugaru in this recipe but if you can’t grt your hands on it, red kashmiri chilli powder or allepo pepper are good replacements failing that mild chilli powder.  Recipe:  200 ml neutral oil (veg, sunflower, peanut etc.)  2 tsp chilli powder  1 tsp paprika  1 heaped tsp tomato paste  1 garlic clove crushed  Pinch flaky sea salt  1. Heat oil on medium to about 120c for about 5 mins  2. Pour all the other ingredients in a heat proof bowl 3. Pour the oil over the spices and allow to bubble and infuse. 4. Enjoy over bresd, salmon, eggs, noodles, steak add a spoon to mayo for a chilli mayo super versatile and we go through it soooo quickly!!!  #chillioil #quickrecipe #simplerecipe
