if you have bolsters at the studio you teach, break them out for your next cool down š You saw the bolster warm up, where we used these big things for everything-but restoration, but hereās how I tied that sequence up to make it feel cohesive š Also ā love the vibe? This is part of the latest class in the Sequencing Hub, titled āDancer FLOW,ā which is a nod to a pose that we see in āØmany formsāØ throughout, as well as a nod to the dharma talk. Interest piqued? Join the Hub!!! Itās a yoga teacherās sequencing safe haven and makes teaching creative flows fun + simpleš«¶š¼ šTeaching Notes āØ I started my cool down in supported bridge and gave my students the option to ignore everything else I said, and stay. I find that by the end of my class, 25% of my students just want to stay in ~one shape~ before savasana. This is that one shape. Do you notice the same with your classes? āØ this entire cool down section takes up 15 minutes when given the option to stay in each pose for ~1.5 minutes (not including savasana). āØ15 minutes is about 15 deep breaths per pose. I donāt cue time, I guide my students into the pose, start my stopwatch, and guide them through 3 breaths. After 3 breaths, I tell them to continue to breathe like that. āØ I spend the rest of that time for: -hands on assists to help them melt even more -verbal cueing to keep them present -coming back to my dharma talk -setting the ambiance for savasana (scents, lights, singing bowl, etc) I hope you love this cool down sequence, always down for comment convos āØš¤²š¼ š¤Char
