As we leave 2024 in the past, I reflect on this year and what I’m grateful for. A LOT has occurred and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world • Every day I’m amazed by how I’m able to move my body the way I do. I have the resources and means to take care of my body how I should. Even through all the ups and downs I experienced, God kept my mental sane. And of all I experienced this year, getting closer with Him has been the HIGHLIGHT of the year for me. If that was all I accomplished, that would be more than enough cuz it’s truly the only thing that matters most to me • The word God gave me for this year was INTENTION and I was forced to move with intention. I found myself in situations where I had to make a choice. I could no longer say I loved Jesus but do what everybody else was doing. So I had to pick. I had to be intentional. And I chose God. And the freedom I’ve experienced since has been divine, literally. I’m intentional about who I hang around. I’m more intentional about what I say and what I do. I’m more intentional about what I’m putting my time into. I’m more intentional about healing and growing. So in shedding my old self, I gained identity in Christ, the one who made me and knew me before I was even placed in my mother’s womb. I gained joy. I gained peace • I have plans and goals and dreams but ultimately, what I hope for in 2025 is what God has planned for me. I pray for continued physical and mental health so I can keep properly stewarding this body I’ve been given. I pray God continues to use me to help other people. I pray for my spirit to be more sensitive to and discerning of His Spirit. I pray I glorify Him in all that I do. I said one of my goals in the new year is incorporating more Pilates in my weekly workout routine so cheers to week 1 being complete! • I’m mixing in strength training with Pilates because I do want to grow muscles in my lower body particularly. It’s light weights and height reps, so a change from my normal routine of moderate to heavy weight for 8-12 reps. It’s only been a week but I’m loving it so far and very excited. Sometimes it be like this :)💗 • My body is a temple of God so me not taking care of it to the best of my ability, without idolizing it, is careless. Oftentimes we ask for and seek more more more when we’re not being good stewards over what we DO have. How can He give us more when we haven’t shown we handle and be appreciative over more when we’re bc instantly making excuses for not doing our best with what we currently have? • Sometimes God withholds things from us because if He gave them to us now, it would destroy us. We’re simply not ready • If I gave up on my fitness journey whenever it got hard, I didn’t feel like it, or I was confused, I’d still be in the same place I was in 2018 or worse. Life is about growth and improvements. Imagine you have a friend talking to you about a business idea she has and 5 years later, she’s STILL talking about it and hasn’t done anything to show she’s SERIOUS… • Take it day by day.
