Let’s keep it real. There are so many viral buzzwords that make exercises overwhelming and confusing, and not consistent across the board. Everyone is saying something different?! Like workouts targeting the “shelf” or “upper” or “lower” glutes. So wtf DOES THAT ACTUALLYYY MEAN? When you look at the glutes, there are only 3 muscles; Glute Maximus, Medius/Minimus. (The glute minimus is underneath the medius so it’s not something you can necessarily target on its own). There is just no general way to focus on straight up “upper or lower glutes”. I agree building a “shelf” is the goal, but WHAT IS the “shelf”? It’s so important for you to think for yourself and do your own research to fact check every single thing. After all, it’s YOUR body to take accountability for.
