If you pick up one new health habit this year - let be fasting.
I’ve been fasting for the last 4 years and it’s one of my favorite things to introduce new people to.
It’s a game-changer for your body, mind, and spirit. On the physical side, it can help with weight loss (shouldn’t be main goal), improve your insulin sensitivity, and even give your cells a chance to clean house through autophagy. Plus, it can boost your energy levels and possibly even slow down aging. Mentally, the discipline you build from fasting can also translate to other areas of life, helping you develop more self-control and willpower. Spiritually, it’s a practice found across all major cultures and religions. And whenever people across time and geographic areas all come to the same conclusion, it’s probably something you want to look into.
By taking a break from food and distractions, you can tune in to God and cultivate more self-awareness, gratitude, and compassion. Make 2025 be the year you start adding regular fasting into your life.
