Age wrinkles the body, but quitting wrinkles the soul." ✨💪 This quote is my answer when people ask "Why do you keep doing what you do?" Current life POV in my late 50s (which is reasonable young 😉) is that it’s not about looking young or hitting PR after PR . . . or any PR for that matter, lol -- those things have all left the building. Instead, it’s about staying in the game, staying passionate, and refusing to let obstacles define you or cause you to give up. Maybe I feel slower, lifts feel heavier, recovery takes longer, or my goals have shifted. That’s okay. What matters is that I (and you) keep going when it comes to the things that you love. Throwing in the towel on something you love—whether it’s training, competing, or any passion—leaves a mark deeper than any wrinkle. It creates the kind of regret that time can’t smooth over. Growth isn’t always about speed or size or getting there first; sometimes, it’s just about refusing to stop and finding the joy where you are. Stay strong. Stay committed. Stay passionate. Keep showing up. Because quitting is what truly ages the soul. Viseo sidenote: I’m working on improving my overhead presses with different variations for an upcoming competition. When I’m sitting, I can’t try to press it up with momentum!
