These are not bad things in themselves, we are to take care of our body as it is the temple of the Holy Spirit.  BUT… we have our priorities wrong if we only care about our physical health and spend no time caring about our spiritual health.  Ultimately, being at right standing before a Just and Holy God is the most important thing to have figured out. This is your soul we are talking about. Your physical body will perish and fade away when you die, but your soul is going to live foreverβ€” either with God in heaven or apart from Him in hell. So how you choose to live your life on this earth truly matters. The good news is that God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross and pay the penalty of death that WE deserved for our sin so that whoever believes in Him can have eternal life. Romans 10:9 says, β€œif you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”.  I encourage you to examine your life and make sure you are right with God today because there is a Judgement day coming where we will face God and have to give an account for every word and deed (Matt. 12:36-37), and we will all stand before God guilty unless we confess that Jesus is Lord and repent/turn from our sinful ways. I grew up really skinny and was pretty weak so it makes me really proud to see how much stronger I have become. I grew out of my skinny twig body πŸ˜‚  I’m grateful to God because I realize that the healthy and strong body I have is because of Him and it is not in my own strength I could have done this. I had gotten a PR of 9 and I was stuck for a while at 6 or 8 and could not get back to where I was.  I ran into a friend who had been in a similar plateau and he shared with me that doing weighted pull-ups helped him to get out of it and keep improving. Now I have added weighted pull-ups to my routine and I do as many as I can of weighted ones and then I drop the weight and finish the rest of my set with normal ones. I do 3 sets of 10.  This builds more muscle in your upper body to be able to do more, but also makes you feel a lot lighter when doing normal pull-ups. It’s crazy how much easier the pull-up feels once you drop the weight. What’s your current pull-up PR? If our body is a temple for the HS then we are to treat it with respect and honor by living a holistically healthy life. This includes all aspects of life like staying in shape and working out, eating healthy and putting clean foods into our body, and making sure the things we are watching and looking at are glorifying to the Lord.
