For the first 25 years of my life I struggled with constant bladder pain that would ramp up to 20/10 pain when I urinated. I thought there HAD to be something wrong with my bladder. So my urologist did a cystoscopy and afterwards she told me she saw nothing wrong with my bladder. This news was honestly devastating, because at that point I was looking for some sort of answer that could lead to a solution to my pain. So I spent the next decade searching for relief in all the wrong places. I tried every medical treatment my doctors offered me for interstitial cystitis, like instillations, medications, and botox. Nothing helped, and most of the time I felt pretty hopeless. That was until I dove head first into learning about my nervous system. I learned that if your nervous system is stuck in a state of chronic stress, or “fight or flight”, that it can cause a variety of symptoms in the body, and in my case this was bladder pain. I had always been a high-anxiety, high-stress person, so this is the moment everything clicked for me. Once I identified this as my root cause, I got to work on regulating my nervous system. Make sure to check out my stories today - I’ll be sharing what specific practices worked for me! Both of my programs place a heavy emphasis on the nervous system because NS dysregulation is the top root cause among my clients. Once they address the nervous system, their symptoms decrease significantly, and some people even achieve total symptom relief. If you have IC: comment “R2R” to learn how my Road To Remission program can help you get relief If you have OAB: comment “OABF” to learn how OAB Freedom can help you break up with your toilet for good! #Interstitialcystitits #intersticialcystitis #interstitialcystitiswarrior #interstitialcystisis #interstitalcystitis #ic #painfulbladdersyndrome #bladderpain #chronicbladderpain #pelvicfloor #pelvicfloorhealth #pelvicpain #bladder #bladderproblems #bladderhealth #icwarrior #icawareness #icdiet #icflare

We all know the feeling of being stuck in a window or middle seat, feeling bad for making rowmates get up so we can use the bathroom (sometimes multiple times). If you have IC or OAB and worry about making multiple trips to the bathroom, chances are you’ve paid extra for an aisle seat for peace of mind. But with airlines charging $40+ per seat per flight, it adds up fast. What if you didn’t have to worry about where you sat? What if you could relax, no matter your seat assignment, and not spiral about bathroom trips mid-flight? I used to panic without an aisle seat. Back when my bladder symptoms were at their worst, I was a broke college student who couldn’t afford the upgrade. Flights were stressful, and this stress often caused a bladder flare after landing. Now, I sit wherever I want without stress because I have relief from my symptoms. I no longer restrict fluids or obsess over restroom access. Flying, while still cramped, is now much more enjoyable because it gets me to exciting destinations stress-free! If you’re tired of peeing every 5 minutes and want to save $$ by not needing an aisle seat, it’s time to uncover your root cause. Examples include pelvic floor dysfunction, nervous system dysregulation, and hormone imbalances. In my experience, flight flares stem from stress and/or pelvic floor tension from sitting too long. If you want my help getting relief in the next 3 months so you can feel confident traveling in 2025, comment “HELP” and let’s chat (**make sure you’re following me so i can send a DM!) #Interstitialcystitits #intersticialcystitis #interstitialcystitiswarrior #interstitialcystisis #interstitalcystitis #ic #painfulbladdersyndrome #bladderpain #chronicbladderpain #pelvicfloor #pelvicfloorhealth #pelvicpain #bladder #bladderproblems #bladderhealth #icwarrior #icawareness #icdiet #oab #overactivebladder #icflare

After getting my IC diagnosis, I used to be so afraid to drink alcohol. Of course, I did it because I was in college, but I truly suffered the consequences after a night out (I called it a “bladder hangover”) Fast forward to now and I’m able to drink alcohol with ZERO fear of it triggering my symptoms. There are 2 parts to this… Alcohol doesn’t bother my bladder anymore I no longer fear it. I’m confident that even if a drink flared me, I could manage the flare quickly and move on. The key to getting my bladder pain, frequency, and urgency to calm down? ✅ Identifying my 2 root causes & addressing them. Root cause #1: Pelvic floor dysfunction Treatment for this included pelvic floor PT, using a pelvic wand, and minimizing stress Root cause #2: Nervous system dysregulation Addressing this looked like: meditation, brain retraining, lots of therapy Addressing these root causes allowed my symptoms to calm down, and any diet sensitivities I had disappeared. After realizing I could tolerate bladder irritants, like alcohol again, I built up confidence over time to consume things like an espresso martini without fear. Because I know that even if I do flare up (99% of the time will be due to stress) I know it’s only temporary and I know exactly how to treat it. If you want relief from your bladder symptoms, it’s time to start investigating your root cause(s). With 2025 here, I bet you’re hoping this will be the year you FINALLY get relief from your IC or OAB symptoms. You’re so over feeling like you’re peeing fire every time you use the toilet. Maybe you struggle with using the bathroom every 10 minutes and are sick of looking at the same 4 walls over and over. Or maybe you have a constant urge to pee, and you feel like you’re on the brink of it driving you insane… Whatever symptoms you’re currently experiencing, 2025 can be the year you get relief from your bladder symptoms. What you don’t need is another supplement, diet, or detox. What you do need to do in order to get relief this year is start investigating your root cause… Basically, what is causing your symptoms of pain, frequency, urgency, and/or incontinence? Is it a dysregulated nervous system (one stuck in fight or flight)? Is it pelvic floor dysfunction that could be fixed with the correct PT and stretching regimen? Is your diet playing a role? (or are you over-restricting when you don’t need to) Are your hormones out of whack? Or is there something entirely different going on, like endometriosis? In order to figure out what you need to do to resolve/treat the root cause of your symptoms, you first need to identify what that is. I can help you navigate the process of finding and addressing your root cause(s) inside either my Road To Remission program (for IC) or OAB Freedom program (for OAB). I’m currently accepting new clients into both programs who are ready to take back control of their health in 2025. This weekend my friends and I got together for a “Friendsmas” gathering🎄 When my IC and OAB symptoms were really bad (about 5-6 years ago), here’s what I would’ve been thinking going into this event: “Will there be anything I can eat without triggering a flare?” “How far is the bathroom, and will anyone notice how often I go?” “What if someone asks why I’m not drinking wine or eating dessert?” “What’s my escape plan if I start feeling uncomfortable or in pain?” But now that I have relief from my bladder symptoms, here’s how the event (and any social gatherings now) actually went… 🎉 I made homemade eggnog (with rum & cinnamon) and enjoyed a glass with my friends 🎉 I tried every single food on that serving table 🎉 I could actually be present and enjoy time with my friends 🎉 I felt like I was truly living my best life and felt grateful that my bladder doesn’t rule me anymore I got symptom relief because I found and treated my root causes - that’s what unlocked this sense of freedom. With Christmas and New Years quickly approaching, it’s normal if you feel stressed about how these holidays will go and whether or not your bladder will throw a temper tantrum. If you want guidance in navigating these events, send me a DM and we can chat about how I can support you! It’s not too late - you can still have an enjoyable rest of 2024 and ring in 2025 on a good note. #Interstitialcystitits #intersticialcystitis #interstitialcystisis #ic #painfulbladdersyndrome #oab #overactivebladder #uti #bladderhealth #bladderproblems #icwarrior #icdiet

DOWN HERE⬇️ You need to start investigating your root cause. What I mean is, you need to identify what is causing your bladder symptoms. Once you identify your root cause, you can begin to address it, and relief will soon follow. The first step? You need to start listening to your body. Yes, your body communicates with you. When it comes to IC and OAB, there was some sort of trigger that caused your body to say “enough is enough” and it tried to get your attention through bladder symptoms like pain. What listening to your body actually looks like is paying attention - that could mean keeping track of your symptoms and other factors like what you’re eating, stress levels, etc. That could mean exploring a deeper connection with your body. For my Road To Remission and OAB Freedom clients, this looks like: ➡️Keeping detailed logs of symptoms, stress, and food ➡️Learning more about what triggers to be aware of and what body signals to pay attention to ➡️Practicing not immediately blaming food for flare-ups (this is common) ➡️Participating in deeper discussions on this topic with peers on group support calls Keep in mind that the process of finding and addressing your root cause will take time and is a journey that needs to be individualized to each person. Years ago I used to travel a couple times a year but I would avoid it if I could because flying or driving would always flare my symptoms.  I would either pee 6 times on the plane and/or I’d get off the plane and hit the bathroom and feel like I was peeing fire. It was misery, so there’s no wonder I avoided it! So how is it that I traveled every single month this year, sometimes traveling twice in one month? I no longer have symptoms and can prevent flare-ups because I’ve identified and treated my root causes. I know exactly how to prepare for travel by hydrating, calming my nervous system, using my pelvic wand, and having the mindset that I’m going to have fun. And if for some reason I do have a flare-up on the trip? I use my pelvic wand, do a meditation, and I’m good to go. Once you know your triggers and how to quickly manage flare-ups, you become more confident in living your life.  It’s so liberating to be able to travel where I want to when I want to. If past me saw current me doing this much travel, she’d never believe it.  If you feel like your bladder is making you afraid to do the things you want in your life, it’s time to do something about it.  Because you don’t have to keep suffering like this. You can get relief and live the life you want.  If you need help getting there, I’m just a DM away😉 #Interstitialcystitits #intersticialcystitis #interstitialcystitiswarrior #interstitialcystisis #interstitalcystitis #ic #painfulbladdersyndrome #bladderpain #chronicbladderpain #pelvicfloor #pelvicfloorhealth #pelvicpain #bladder #bladderproblems #bladderhealth #icwarrior #icawareness #icdiet #icflare #oab #overactivebladder

As a kid, I struggled with constant bladder pain that no one around me seemed to experience.  Since no one else was complaining that their bladder hurt, and my doctor didn’t know what was wrong with me, I thought the only way to be “normal” was to push through the pain. I did this in so many ways and looking back on these memories, I feel bad for young Callie who had to deal with these symptoms alone.   I played 3 sports in high school and volleyball at college. I enjoyed playing sports and decided my pain wasn’t going to hold me back… So I would go to the bathroom before practice or a game and would feel like I was peeing fire, then have to go play a sport for 2-3 hours.  After college, I knew I wanted to travel around the world - and I did - but many of my memories of traveling include the brutal flare-ups I would experience every few hours. I remember having a BRUTAL flare after wearing jean shorts and being dehydrated during a day trip to the Amalfi Coast.  My past was riddled with experiences like this where I would push through the pain. Luckily now, I don’t have to do that because I DON’T HAVE PAIN!! How? I found and treated my root causes (PFD and nervous system dysregulation). Now I can travel wherever I want, do the activities I want, eat and drink what I want…just live without fearing flare-ups. Last week I was in Florida and went kayaking, did a ton of walking, got drinks with friends, and even joined a barre class at a local studio.  Life is now SO much more enjoyable since I’ve addressed my root causes and got relief.  If you want to get relief from your symptoms and gain the freedom to live your life how you want, you need to start investigating your root cause. Check my IG stories today for more specifics on HOW to do this. #Interstitialcystitits #intersticialcystitis #interstitialcystisis #interstitialcystitiswarrior #bladderpain #bladder #bladderproblems #bladderhealth #ic #icwarrior #icflare #icdiet #oab
