4 things you can do to help support your adrenals (which release cortisol) and keep your levels balanced: 💥 Pay attention to your circadian rhythm which is our internal 24 hr clock that regulates our hormone production. That means getting sunlight on our eyes first thing in the morning ideally but anytime helps. Open the shades and stand with your face to the sun or step outside 2 min is better than none 10 is even better. Limit blue light at night which suppresses our melatonin being produced. No scrolling in bed. Blue light glasses if you must. Try swapping screens for a book. 💥 Clean up your diet. Get rid of inflammatory seed oils and limit processed foods ( think in a box or bag) and sugar, limit alcohol. 💥 Make your food choices count. Calorie restriction only stresses our body more. What we eat matters and it is the only way our body is nourished. Think healthy fats, protein and fiber ( vegetables and fruit). Don’t forget water ( not around meals). We get into habits of foods or beverages we love but do a realistic inventory to see if that is serving your body to function and feel well. 💥 You have to realistic take stock of your stress. Write down where it is for you in your life. This can be emotional or mental but also physical if you are eating poorly or not making sleep a priority or lack of movement. Make an effort to find ways to help decrease stress. Nobody is coming to make those choices for you. That may mean saying no or delegating some things. It may mean practicing gratitude journaling to set yourself for a positive day or doing breath work to regulate your nervous system. Only we can make those decisions and we need to honest with our selfs on how stress is impacting us and take action to improve it. Managing stress is not negotiable and a main driver of cortisol problems. #cortisol #cortisolimbalance #healthtip #functionalmedicine #womenshealth #womenempowerment #cortisolimbalancefix #circadianrhythm #inflammation #sleep #hormones #hormonebalance #holistichealing #wellness #telsonhealth
