I’ll say it over and over until my face turns blue, poor posture and back pain isn’t a “normal”  part of aging and it isn’t “genetic”. With the  right balanced fitness  routine, you won’t have  back pain, you’ll be able to improve your posture, and prevent back pain!  Back pain and poor posture may be common with aging, but just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s “normal”.  As we age, we stop being as physically active as we once were which can contribute to back pain. 2 reasons “shape” goals are not my favorite..  1. They are usually trends. And I don’t believe that bodies are trendy! I think that trying to change your body grow X, shrink X… can end up being damaging down the line. A lot of what we see online are genetics, surgeries, or end results after years of work. 2. We only see the end result online. People don’t usually see the work that goes into it. Once people start working on goals like this, they can become discouraged… Because it takes a long time! Especially with a goal like growing your glutes, you will have to go through a muscle growth phase, which means that you will most likely gain weight overall that you will then have to lose. It can take years. And that’s without even touching on nutrition and genetics.  in my experience, most people just want to feel good in their bodies! They want to feel confident! Back in 2014 I got certified in hot yoga and even though I teach regular yoga now, I still appreciate a little external heat with my practice.
